The Bristol Sound and Vision show is the one place to be to see the latest models from the key players in AV and Hifi. Some of the exhibitors include Sony, Denon, Monitor Audio, Mission, Wharfedale, KEF, Sennheiser, B&W and so many more. A fantastic thing about the Bristol show they have a great selection of AV and Hifi products, from CD players, tuners amplifiers and cables, to LCD, LED and plasma televisions and TV stands and cabinets.

About two years I travelled down to the Bristol Show from Manchester, to see the latest models from the big boys in AV.

After a three hour train journey with a bunch of welsh rugby supporters I arrived at The Bristol Marriott hotel, which half a mile from the station. Paying my £8 on the door, a grabbed my map and programme and went off on my AV adventure.

The ground floor was occupied by accessory brands displaying the latest advances in cables, and the latest trends, colours and styles in AV furniture and cabinets. Spectral and Just-Racks were there with their premium furniture that is available in of 2000 colours, and the multi award winning Atacama with their professional and sleek TV and Hifi racks.

In the large rooms on the first floor of the Marriott were where the big AV manufactures were. KEF, Denon, Sony, JVC and Pioneer where some of the brands show casing their products in these rooms.

In the Q Acoustics room on one of the lower floors they were demonstration the new Q-AV system, which was a very impressive and effective sound bar with rear speakers, which is great if you don't have a square room or your TV is in the corner. In the bedrooms of the Bristol Marriott the rooms had been transformed in to neat little demo rooms so customers could test, play with and drool over the latest AV equipment.

At the Bristol show you are given the opportunity to buy directly from the manufactures, at some times discounted prices. Strolling around the Sound and vision show I saw some really impressive pieces of equipment, many of which I wanted for myself. . I wrote down the models a was interested and gave Sound and Vision in Bolton a quick ring to see what prices they were offering on the same products.

I was really impressed when Sound and Vision could better the prices of the equipment I had seen at show and give me free delivery, making the train journey home that much easier. I left the show really pleased with what I had seen and the savings I made by ring my local Sound and vision retailer for prices.

This year the Bristol show is expected to be even bigger, seeing the launch of some really amazing products, I would recommend however, you take the Sound and Vision number and see if they are cheaper.
